THE TIMORASSO WINE
Arrival in Monleale, small village and symbol of the winemaking culture in the Tortona area
You will discover the Timorasso, an ancient vine
almost lost, and today brought to a renowned success thanks to the
passionate job of a group of courageous wine makers of the region
The marked mineral notes and its delicacy bring suddenly to mind the
great Oltralpe wines taste, and to their long aging process.
Visit of a historical cellar of Timorasso and wine tasting
STAGE 02
SALAME DI TORTONA
Arrival in Costa Vescovato village, at a social and agricultural cooperative, with organic certified production.
Guided tour of the farm that embodies the Slow Food concept of “good, clean and fair” since the seventies, when the founders decided to take care of the
territory of their region and to preserve and respect the local rural
tradition, fighting against their abandonment.
The farm owners are the only official authorized producers of the salame delle valli tortonesi, Slow Food presidium
Lunch at the farm, including the home-produced organic products.
STAGE 03
PELIZZA DA VOLPEDO
Transfer to the close town of Volpedo
Visit guided to the painting exhibition, dedicated to the internationally celebrated artist Pelizza da Volpedo, born in Volpedo on 1868
His masterpiece is the painting Il Quarto Stato, (The Fourth Estate) , his most famous painting, and it would be destined to become an icon of the social struggle of the working class.
Dinner at a typical restaurant nominated by Slow Food.
