STAGE 1
THE BARRELS OF CASTELL’ALFERO
Leaving from Turin, meeting point at Salone del Gusto Piazza.
This itinerary will lead to discover the best of Monferrato area Guided tour of a renowned craft barrel maker in Castellalfero, known for producing the best artisanal barrels of Italy.
Transfer to the small village of Portocomaro to visit a farm and to taste its artisanal food products.
Lunch at the farm’s restaurant, with a tasting menu including homemade food and Slow Food wines.
STAGE 2
ANARCHIC RUSTY GRIGNOLINO
Asti Monferrato Grignolino
Transfer to Grana, a small village in the Monferrato region, and visit of a local winery, renowned for the production of Grignolino red wine Grignolino is an ancient wine dating back to the 8th century, with anarchic character and rusty reflections, highly appreciated for its fresh and precious notes.
Visit of the Grignolino vineyards and winery, followed by guided Grignolino wine tasting
STAGE 3
MOSCATO D’ASTI SPUMANTE
Transfer to the historical Canelli, city of Monferrato region.
Guided visit to discover a unique wine cellar, known as the “underground cathedrals” and declared a UNESCO world heritage site.
The underground hollows were manmade with the same purposes leading French champagne producers, for the aging and perfecting of wines including sparkling ones.
Following the visit of the cathedral caves you will have a Aperitif based on guided tasting of the sparkling Moscato d’ Asti.
Dinner in Canelli at a Michelin starred restaurant or at local enoteca proposed by Slow Food, based on a tasting menu.
Return to Turin in the evening
