STAGE 01
ALBA AND BAROLO, KING OF WINES AND WINE OF THE KINGS
Transfer to Alba for a guided tour of the medieval city and its towers
On Saturday visit of the local farmers market showcasing local products, including the famous hazelnut
Lunch at the Osteria nominated by SLOW FOOD with a tasting menu and the famous hazelnut cake, made with locally produced hazelnuts, the famous “tonda gentile” of Langhe IGP, protagonist of the Piedmontese confectionery tradition and Gianduja chocolate.
Transfer to Novello and the renowned winery of the legendary Barolo and the exclusive Nascetta wine
Barolo and Nascetta tasting, and guided tour of the winery
Short walk from Novello to Barolo along the romantic Barolo road, in the middle of the famous vineyards.
Arrival in Barolo and a visit of the village
Transfer to the nearby village of La Morra to enjoy, from the natural balcony, the landscape of the legendary Barolo vineyards.
STAGE 02
PELAVERGA WINE AND THE NIGHT OF THE WHITE TRUFFLE HUNTING
Arrival in Verduno for a guided tasting of Pelaverga, in the cellars most suited to the production of this extraordinary wine
Dinner at a restaurant near the castle of Verduno, with a spectacular view at sunset on the most famous vineyards of Piedmont
The dinner will be a real merenda sinoira in the garden of the restaurant, as the farmers used to do at the end of the working day, for a convivial moment with tasting menu of local products
At dusk the true search for the white truffle will begin, at night and with the “trifula” dogs, for a unique and authentic experience: if you will not find truffles, you will not try them!
The search for truffles will be carried out by Alba’s Slow Food Convivium: the “trifola” will take you into the woods to experience the thrill of searching in the night silence, guided only by smells and the dogs, and like all true searches it may lead to truffles or not, but in any case will leave the satisfaction of an authentic experience
Return to the agritourism for the overnight stay
STAGE 03
BARBARESCO AND THE TOWER, ROERO AND THE CIABOT
Breakfast on the agritourism and check out
Transfer to the turreted village of Barbaresco for a visit to a winery nominated by Slow Food, meeting with producers of the famous Barbaresco wine;
Tour of the winery and the vineyards and tasting of different vintages in the cellar of Barbaresco
Walk to the famous medieval tower in the center of Barbaresco and climb to enjoy the spectacular panoramic view of the Roero hills and the vineyards of the Nebbiolo vine
Toast with a glass of Barbaresco from the top of the tower
Transfer to Govone, a small town in the Roero area for a visit to a small family-run winery producing Roero DOCG, Arneis and Nebbiolo, Barbera DOC and Roero wines.
Explanation of winemaking methods and guided tasting of Roero wines
Walk in the rows of Nebbiolo grapes, up to the characteristic restored ciabot, a small rural building on the top of the hill and in the middle of the vineyards, with a panoramic view of the Savoy Castle and the Roero hills
Ciabot lunch based on local products, for a true and authentic convivial experience
Visit of the famous Savoy castle of Govone, named a UNESCO Heritage site
Return to Turin in the evening
