STAGE 01
HISTORICAL NOVARA AND MEDIOEVAL BROLETTO
Leaving from Turin.
Guided tour of the historical city center, you will climb the Dome of San Gaudenzio, the highest masonry dome of Europe.
Visit the ancient medieval complex of Broletto.
Visit of the cookie factory Camporelli, facing the dome, a historical cafe bar where you will taste the homemade original recipe from Novara.
STAGE 02
BLACK RICE AND GORGONZOLA CHEESE
Transfer to the village of Casalbeltrame, considered by Slow Food as the capital of the black rice variety Artemide, a unique black variety cultivated only in this region, known worldwide and awarded the Slow Food snail.
Guided visit of a local farm producing black rice both the Venere and Artemide varieties.
Visit of the interactive Rice Museum and of the 5 rural churches, incredible examples of local art and architecture, with the characteristic row line position from the smallest to the biggest one.
Lunch, tasting menu at the farm’s Bistrot, including risotto al gorgonzola made with the black rice and the delicious gorgonzola cheese typical of the Novara area.
STAGE 03
BOCA WINE AND BLOND ONION PRESIDIO SLOW FOOD
Visit of a craft dairy famous for gorgonzola production, a DOP cheese of ancient origins and an excellence of the Novara region.
Guided Tour of the dairy, explanation of the art of producing gorgonzola and a final tasting.
Transfer to Boca village Tour of a winery of the legendary BOCA wine and of the estate vineyards Boca wine tasting into the vineyards Dinner at local agritourism suggested by Slow Food.
The tasting menu will include recipes based on the sweet and gentle blond onion from Cureggio e Fontaneto, presidio Slow Food.
The friends from the Condotta Slow Food Colline Novaresi will take part in the dinner and they will explain the story of the blond ognon, its value for the culture of the territory, and how it became a presidium.
Return to Turin in the evening.
